What we are about

Sometimes you just need the cup with the little green straw. Coffee shops have become so much more than simply a place to go and get your favorite indulgence. It has become a place to connect, reconnect, and learn about yourself. Join us as we share the lessons the little green straw has taught us about the blessings we are continuing to unravel in life through prayers, love, and new adventures. Who knows maybe this can spark a new lesson for the little green straw to teach you in your life.

Meet Us

Cady

Hello :) my name is Cady. I'm what many call an "Army Brat", but in time we must break from this label and find a place we call home. The place I call home is Colorado. I am a Sports Medicine graduate from Colorado State University (Go Rams!), and am currently working on a masters in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Northern Colorado. I am hoping to eventually become a physical therapist and help out wounded warriors and athletes become stronger than they thought possible. I am a certified personal trainer and hopefully in a few days a certified strength and conditioning specialist! My nerd will occassionally come out and you will clearly see my passion from these two certifications! I am so excited to see what the next chapter holds in my life and will continue to embark on the countless adventures the Lord has blessed me with!

What little green straw drink is your indulgence:

I am a newbie to enjoying a cup of caffeine! With this being said it should be known that this is the current indulgence-but I am open to trying new flavors. I mean give me a via and some warm water stir that baby up with some creamer and I will be quite content. However, I do enjoy a nice cinnamon dolce latte (skinny) with soy milk when its time to get real deep :).

Favorite way to burn those calories:

Anyone that knows me would tell you right away she is a workout-aholic. I do not know when enough is enough. I absolutley love to run, it is my quiet time and my stress reliever. If it was possible I would run every where and all day long. A new found love that has come into my life recently is Cross-fit! I love the accountability that I have when I go there, and that I am not the only one suffering through the burn! I love water sports, especially wakeboarding-my dad will purposefully cause me to wipe-out because I never want to stop. And being from colorado no better way in the winter to burn those calories than to drive to the mountains and have a great day on the powder!

Holly
Hi! Holly here. I am a proud Colorado native and if ever forced to leave I will have a hard time parting such a place. I attend Colorado State University and am studying Communications (Media Studies) and Business. I hope to someday become an event marketer within the sports realm. Since I was little I have been playing soccer and have been fortunate enough to play at CSU. It has not only become a way of life, but a ministry for me to see my teammates come to know the Lord. I love the fact that a person can look back on their past years and realize why God has allowed certain events to happen. I now know why I am here at CSU doing what I am doing, to love others, passionately play soccer, and create relationships for His Kingdom (ooo and school I guess). I am excited to see what God has next for my journey and am doing my best to trust Him and his plans :)

Drink with a little green straw:
This is tough. I guess really it just depends on my mood. I love seasonal hot drinks, and in the summer I take everything iced. My best friend Brittany and I have been hitting up the iced soy chai tea pretty much everyday. So, as of now I'll take one please.

Burning those calories:
As I said before, soccer is my forte. So, give me a ball, net, and field and I will be out there working hard to earn another drink ;) If not soccer, I have recently been running. I decided that after my soccer career is over, running is the next big thing. I don't ever want to lose competitive spirit and running races is the perfect substitute. I love trying new work out plans. Thanks to some teammates I've been trying new track work outs (which are a lot harder than it looks), as well as kickboxing, and of course my body pump lifting classes! I don't ever like missing a day of working out, its a habit I never want to lose. So, I guess I can say I will always figure out a way to burn off the liquid I sip through my little green straw.
